New inspiration

I watched the movie Julie and Julia last night for the first time.  It inspired me to start blogging again.  School last semester was just crazy.  I was extremely busy - I took 5 classes (what was I thinking?).  I'm hoping this next year will be much more relaxing and much less stressful.  Josh graduated from high school this last May.  If all goes as planned it will be my turn to graduate next May.  Yeah!  Finally.

January 20, 2010

Life is just kinda weird.  School started yesterday and so far I like the classes I'm taking but one.  My ED_LTCY 440 class is taught by a very sweet Korean lady, who I'm sure she really knows her stuff and is a great teacher in Korean, but her English is very poor and she is so hard to understand.  I think I'm going to drop the class and take it this summer.  English and Health/PE seem like they'll be fairly easy.  Tonight is my ED-BLESL (Bilingual/ESL) class.  As far as I know there are no texts required.  I've heard it's a fairly easy class.  Tomorrow is my classroom management class.  I think it should be fun.  We'll see.

Now for the bad news.  My mom had a tumor removed yesterday and it is cancerous.  I don't know too much but the doctor is hopeful and he says that it can be treated.  That is good news but the problem is that my mom is 83 years old.  I don't know how much her poor little body can handle.  When I pray about it I feel at peace and that all will be well.  I just need to have faith.  I'll have to find a better picture of my parents.

A busy new year

Just wanted to take a moment to welcome you all to 2010!  It's already turning out to be very busy.  Josh is needing the computer so I'll try to add more later.

Commando Josh

Here's a picture of my son Josh right before he left for an Air Soft camp out.  He and a bunch of his buddies went and camped in the snow at Curtis Park in Caldwell.  For those who don't know what Air Soft is, it's the modern day BB gun or paint ball gun except the pellets are little round plastic balls.  They all dressed in camo but then it snowed that night so they probably showed up like sore thumbs in the snow.  They had a great time.

My baby has flown the next

Tiana just left this morning for the Fiesta Bowl.  I know it may not seem like such a big deal but she's not coming home again.  She's playing in the BSU marching band at the Fiesta Bowl and has opted to return to Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah.  They are flying her to Salt Lake City after the game and Don and I are driving down to SLC, picking her up at the airport and taking her to Cedar.  I know that she's lived away from home before but I think that's what makes it so hard is I know what it's like.  She will be so far away.  We can't even see her on weekends.  And besides that, Josh is now 18.  We are only 1 year away from his mission.  He will be gone for 2 years then it'll be just Don, Bethany and me.  I don't think I can stand so much quiet.

First Post

Welcome all to my world.  Beware because it can get a bit convoluted sometimes, but there will never be a dull moment.  Right now my children are playing a game called Ninja Destruction.  It involves taking turns slapping at each others hands.  It's a bit bizarre but it oddly enough it keeps them happy and out of my hair.  Who-da-thunk.  Anyway, it took so long to get this blog set up that this will be all for today.  I gotta go get in the shower.
